Connecting Across Europe

  • BEinCPPS project integrated and experimented on Fl-based machine-factory cloud service platform firstly intensively in five selected S3 Vanguard regions, afterwards extensively in all European regions, by involving local competence centres and manufacturing SMEs. The final aim of this Innovation Action is to dramatically improve the adoption of CPPSs all over Europe by means of the creation, nurturing and flourishing of CPS-driven regional innovation ecosystems, made of competence centres, manufacturing enterprises and IT SMEs.


  • H2020 eFactory - European Connected Factory Platform for Agile Manufacturing - eFactory is a federated smart factory ecosystem and a digital platform that interlink different stakeholders of the digital manufacturing domain. The eFactory platform enable users to utilise innovative functionalities, experiment with disruptive approaches and develop custom solutions for specific needs.


  • H2020 - CREMA - Cloud-based Rapid Elastic Manufacturing – Due to the proliferation of ICT Technologies, manufacturing industry is undergoing substantial transformation not only in terms of hardware but also in terms of Cyber-Physical Production Systems and the software and services used within production environments. In parallel, the manufacturing processes of the future are changing and need to be highly flexible and dynamic in order to satisfy customer demands for, e.g., large series production, mass customization, or changing orders. In order to keep pace with the needs of the manufacturing industry of the future, in Manufacturing 4.0 companies need to flexibly react to these demands and be able to offer production capacities in a rapid way. Thus companies looking for manufacturing capacity need to be supported by the means to find these capacities, configure them, and integrate them into their own manufacturing processes.


  • FITMAN - Future Internet Technologies for MANufacturing Industries – The mission of the project is to provide the FI PPP Core Platform with a set of industry-led use case trials in the manufacturing domain, in order to test and assess the suitability, openness and flexibility of FI-WARE Generic Enablers, this way contributing to the social-technological-economical-environmental-political (STEEP) objectives included in the “ICT for Manufacturing” and “Future Internet Enterprise Systems” EU research roadmaps, by integrating FI generic and specific enablers with key business processes and enterprise applications currently running in Smart, Digital and Virtual Factories of the Future.


  • ADVENTURE - ADaptive Virtual ENTerprise ManufacTURing Environment – The project targets at a framework that provides tools to combine factories in a pluggable way to manufacture a particular product. This includes the creation of manufacturing processes, finding partners as well as real-time monitoring of the processes that are put into play. The concept of combining the power of several independent factories to achieve complex manufacturing processes as so-called virtual factories is not new and has been addressed by several research projects in recent years.


  • FLEXINET - Intelligent Systems Configuration Services for Flexible Dynamic Global Production Networks – Services offer the user decision support by evaluating the potential impact of changes to product/service on a global production network. Changes may include strategic development, or response to external factors. The Strategic Business Model Evaluator analyses proposed changes in the context of the existing network inter-relationships in a simulation based "what-if" analysis, whilst the Production Network Configurator supports decision-making leading to adaptation of the global production network to change.
